Queen Chrysalis by SpaceVoyager Queen Chrysalis by SpaceVoyager
Chrysalis is not for sale. She belongs to me.

She's finally finished! This is actually my third attempt. The other two didn't turn out so great and were scrapped. I have to say...I am so tired of sewing holes!!

Chrysalis is made from minky fabric. She has machine embroidered eyes and is 17 inches tall not including her horn. I spent an entire day learning how to use some new digitizing software. I love how her eyes came out! It's definitely the best embroidery design I've made.

I made tubed for her legs out of plastic canvas and wire, then I lined them with minky. The sash around Chrysalis' waist is made from satin fabric. I pleated it to give it a nice effect. Her wings are velboa and have quilt batting sewn inside along with some wire for poseability.

I colored the thing on her back with fabric marker, then blended it with my finger so it wouldn't look rough. And finally, Chrysalis' crown is made from minky and glass beads.

She was a lot of work! @-@
